Reminder

This is just a reminder that due to a lack of interest, Mme Bruneau will rarely be updating this blog with classroom "happenings" and announcements and will primarily be using Seesaw to share and communicate. 

However, the classroom calendar on this blog will continue to be updated!

Tomorrow we are celebrating the colour jaune! By wearing jaune, you will really brighten up the classroom!

Here is a photo of our arbres d'automne from last week. As you may have noticed, I have not been posting many individual pictures to your child's Seesaw account. We have been hard at work in our journals and doing a special Thanksgiving activity that requires me to scribe for all 18 students and makes it difficult to snap a pic of every student. Rest assured, they are busy learning and having fun!

The party snack schedule is out! I have emailed each parent individually and let them know which snack to bring for which party. I will also send out a reminder email closer to the date. We have 18 students in our class. Thank you very much for volunteering!

Scholastic orders are in!

Scholastic orders were delivered today! Please check your child's pochette and back pack. 

We had a great day celebrating the colour orange and had a discussion about a little girl named Phyllis who wasn't allowed to wear her fancy orange shirt at school. Please visit the website: http://www.orangeshirtday.org/ for more information about Phyllis. Orange shirts and bracelets were also delivered to those who ordered them. 

We read the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? Talk to your child about what it means to be a bucket filler. 

A reminder that there is no school on Monday. Please see the October calendar in your child's pochette for more important dates. 

Photos & Orange Shirt Day

Please check in your child's pochette, there is a special photo card with information on how to access your child's picture day proofs and order them. Orders are due online by October 1st.

Thursday is Orange Shirt day, please have your child wear orange if they have.

Terry Fox Walk

We had a great time doing the Terry Fox Walk this afternoon. Unfortunately I didn't snag any pictures but you can ask your child about their experience. In the morning, we watched a brief film on Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope. In the afternoon, we had an assembly in the gym where Mme Martens' & Mr. Walsh's classes presented and proceeded to walk a route around the neighbourhood.

The permission form for speech & language screening is due by Wednesday, September 19th.

The Terry Fox run is Friday, September 21st.

Our day of "rouge" is Friday, September 21st. Please encourage your child to wear red.

A family photo is due by Friday, September 21st.

The party snack volunteer form is due Friday, September 21st.

Scholastic book orders are due Friday, September 21st.
